Video QC Engineer

Location: On-Site (Parsippany, NJ)

Salary: $30 - $35 per hour


Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Video QC Engineer to serve as our quality control authority in the video department. You will be responsible for performing comprehensive quality control inspections on all video equipment returning from rentals, ensuring every item is functional, properly cleaned, and repackaged for deployment on the next event. This is a technical leadership position where meticulous attention to detail directly impacts client satisfaction and equipment longevity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quality control inspections on all video department equipment returning from rental events

  • Test functionality of video equipment to verify operational status before redeployment

  • Maintain comprehensive Equipment QC Logs in inventory control systems

  • Flag damaged or non-functional equipment and coordinate with Shop Management for repair or replacement

  • Assist in order fulfillment and returns by scanning assets into inventory control systems

  • Participate in physical inventory checks throughout the year to ensure accuracy

  • Train and mentor junior video technicians on QC standards and best practices


Skills & Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 4 years of experience with video equipment maintenance, QC, or bench technician work

  • Deep knowledge of video equipment types (cameras, processors, displays, cables, power supplies, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and identify equipment defects

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in UBS R2 or similar ERP/inventory management systems

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace

  • Ability to operate basic diagnostic tools and equipment testers

  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify defects others might miss

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple QC checks simultaneously

  • Problem-solving mindset to troubleshoot equipment issues

  • Clear documentation and communication of QC findings

  • Physical capability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs regularly
