The Pavilion At Toyota Music Factory

When the Toyota Music Factory in Irving, Texas, first soft-opened its doors, it quickly became clear that the facility needed an audio and lighting upgrade to live up to its potential. The Pavilion’s management wanted to elevate the guest experience, attract top tours, and deliver a higher level of service to every artist, client, and audience that walked through its doors. That’s where Panavid came in.

Working hand-in-hand with The Pavilion’s production manager, Tommy DeBeaudry, Panavid CEO Rob Loehr designed a state-of-the-art solution that would meet the venue’s daily operational needs while providing the horsepower required for larger touring productions. Flexibility was key. The system needed to perform at the highest level but also be removable when the grid had to be cleared.

When selecting a vendor for our sound and lights package at Toyota Music Factory, Panavid was very hands on from the get-go. They were very attentive to our concerns and worked well with us to come up with a great solution for a venue with very specific needs. Several trips to the DFW area and their very reliable communication showed us their commitment to the project. We look forward to building our relationship and their continuing support in making TMF a great place to see and hear shows.

THE CHALLENGE

The Pavilion is three venues in one—transforming from a 2,500-seat intimate theater to a 4,000-person indoor theater, and expanding into an 8,000-capacity open-air pavilion. This flexibility demanded an audio and lighting system that could adapt seamlessly to multiple configurations, provide even coverage across changing layouts, and deliver both finesse and power depending on the show. Beyond performance, the system also had to be rider-friendly, easily removable, and safe for quick load-ins and strikes. All hoists, trussing, and rigging were supplied by Panavid as well, utilizing the latest technology and safety equipment. Since it was known that the system would need to be removed for larger tours, it was important that the entire rig could be taken down and put back up quickly, and safely.  Panavid selected the ChainMaster BGV-D8 double-brake, 1-ton chain hoist for all 14 points to guarantee a smooth, quick, setup and strike.

THE SOLUTION

Panavid answered with a d&b audiotechnik V-Series line array system:

  • 14 — d&b V12 boxes per side, designed with 120° cabinets to accommodate the venue’s shifting layouts

  • 4 — d&b Y10P front fills for crystal-clear sound in the front rows

  • 12 — d&b B22 subs, versatile enough to provide smooth low end for quieter shows while delivering deep punch for high-SPL performances

  • d&b D80 amplifiers, ensuring every speaker had the headroom to reach maximum output

For rigging and safety, Panavid supplied ChainMaster BGV-D8 double-brake, 1-ton chain hoists across 14 points, allowing the system to be struck and re-installed quickly and securely.

On the lighting side, Panavid delivered a fully LED, rider-friendly package designed for speed and efficiency:

  • 12 — ETC Source Four LED Lekos

  • 10 — Martin Quantum Washes

  • 14 — Martin Quantum Profiles

  • 4 — Martin Viper Wash DX fixtures

  • 14 — Atomic 3000 LED Strobes

  • Ultratec FX Radiance Touring Hazer

  • High End Road Hog 4 console

THE RESULT

With its new audio and lighting backbone, Toyota Music Factory is now positioned as one of the most versatile and rider-friendly venues in the region. From intimate concerts to high-energy arena-style shows, The Pavilion offers audiences and artists alike a world-class experience, all while maintaining the flexibility to adapt quickly to any event.

Panavid continues to support Toyota Music Factory with its extensive inventory—mixing consoles from Avid, DiGiCo, and Yamaha; microphones from Shure, Sennheiser, Neumann, and DPA; as well as video walls, projection, and additional lighting gear. This ensures that no matter the production, the Pavilion is equipped to meet and exceed expectations.
